Rotary Club of Claverhouse Cyclathon

10 Sep 17

The annual Rotary Club of Claverhouse Cyclathon is a fun event for individuals, families and teams from work, school or college.  The event uses Dundee's unique 26 mile Green Circular Cycle Route and entrants can raise funds for their chosen charity or cause or for our 2017 nominated charity, Marie Curie.

The Cyclathon starts and finishes at Camperdown Park, Dundee.  Entrants can start at any time between 10.30 and 11.30am and can finish at their own pace (up to 4.00pm).  There are four water stations along the route and first aid and cycle repair facilities are available.  The route is well signposted and there are marshals at key points along the way.

Everyone who finishes the course receives a commemorative medal, banana and bottle of water.  You are free to wear fancy dress but please dress safely.  We strongly recommend that you wear a suitable helmet and remember THIS IS A FUN EVENT, NOT A RACE!

Participants should be reasonably fit and their bikes fully serviceable.  A free safety check is available from Nicholson's Cycles, 2 Forfar Road, Dundee (01382 461212) during the week prior to the event.

After the event participants will be invited to a reception hosted by the Lord Provost of Dundee.  This will provide an opportunity to present any funds that you have raised to your chosen charity or cause.

Entry fees for this year's Cyclathon are as follows:

Individuals                                   £12  (£14 on the day)

Families                                       £25  (£30 on the day)

Teams (of up to six)                     £40  (£50 on the day)  For teams of greater than six a charge of £5 per additional member will be applied and you should contact the event organiser, Ian Balgowan, to arrange payment.
