Essential ChiWalking and Hill Skills (3 hours), Lochgilphead (10am-1pm)
Walking doesn’t have to be hard… and it doesn’t have to hurt. Whether you’re a seasoned hill walker, you’re just wanting to walk more or pick up tips to walk with less aches and pains, ChiWalking will help you walk with ease, energy and joy (see my blog).
Movement that makes sense. Learn how small adjustments in your movement can make a big difference in reducing impact, preventing injuries, and improving your walking efficiency.
Walk with confidence. Save your knees, feel lighter on your feet, and walk further with less recovery time. We’ll show you how to get rid of what slows you down and you’ll walk better than ever.
In this 3 hour workshop we will be looking at the essentials of ChiWalking and how it can really help our everyday walking - both on the flat and up/down hills.
What we will be covering in the workshop:
- The essentials of ChiWalking - posture, alignment, relaxation, stride length, using our arms and listening to our bodies
- The difference between conventional walking and ChiWalking
- Reducing impact and muscle fatigue
- Efficient, pain-free movement
- Walking with gravity, rather than against it
- Walking at different speeds
- How to tackle hills (up and own) with less stress on knees and back.
Following the class you will receive a short, slow motion video which will provide feedback on your individual walking style with recommendations for how to improve your walking form. This is included in the price of the workshop.

Time/duration: 10am-1pm (3 hours)
Fitness: This workshop is suitable for all levels of walker. We will be on our feet for most of the workshop looking at standing posture and going on a 45-60 minute walk which will include tackling some easy hills. We will be taking things gently but feel free to get in touch if you have any worries.
Medical Conditions: If you are interested in this workshop but are worried about your level of fitness, please do get in touch. If you are recovering from any illness or injury, you may wish to speak to your doctor or physiotherapist before attending to ensure that it is compatible with your recovery programme. You must let Past-Tracks know in advance of any medical conditions (such as heart problems, mobility issues, breathing problems etc) you have that you think may be an issue.
