Bradford-on-Avon Lions Club 5k and Fun Run

A new and exciting addition to the running calendar!
Bradford-on-Avon Lions Club - with the support of Avon Valley Runners, is delighted to announce 2 brand new off-road events, taking place in the beautiful setting of the Tithe Barn, River Avon and the Kennet & Avon Canal area of the town.
Any profits will be shared between Bradford-on-Avon Lions Club and The Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
Both events take place on 25th September, starting at Culver Close, Bradford-on-Avon, Wiltshire. BA15 1LF.
There are toilets, showers, changing facilities and storage.
Refreshments will be available and competitors and their supporters will be entertained by live music!
There is ample parking available nearby at the Bailey's Barn or Station car parks.
The first warm-up Family Friendly fun event starts at 10.00am. This is a:
1 mile Run, Walk, Toddle or Push. Online entries £4. Entries on the day of the race will be £5 if there are places remaining.
This is open to all - including those with young children and those with disabilities. Pushers go free!
The route is along the tarmac path starting in Culver Close, then along the path past the bowls club. From there it is on to the river path to the water treatment works and back again.
All finishers will receive a medal and a **Goody Bag** for all children!
Trophies will be presented for 1st & 2nd Male and Female and Fastest Boy & Girl under 12.
(It is advised that all runners under 10 years old are accompanied by a responsible adult.)
The main event starts at 11.00am. This is a:
5K Run Online entries £7. Entries on the day of the race will be £9 - if there are places remaining.
This is open all all those aged 12 and over.
The route starts with a circuit of the Culver Close playing field, then on past the bowls club and along the tarmac river path to the water treatment plant. Competitors then head right keeping to the river path on the grass to Avoncliff where they go up the zigzag path to the tow path of the picturesque Kennet & Avon canal. Here they turn back towards Bradford-on-Avon, running approx 1 kilometre along the tow path to the swing bridge where they re-join the river path and return to finish their run - with a final circuit of Culver Close to the finish line - cheered on their way by the watching crowd!
All finishers will receive a medal and a goody bag. There will be trophies for 1st, 2nd & 3rd Fastest Male and Female as well as a prize for the fastest over 40, over 50 and over 60.
Advance entries via Entry Central are strongly advised although booking on the day will be accepted if there are places remaining.
The 1 mile Run, Walk, Toddle or Push is open to all and welcomes family participation and entries from those with disabilities. The course is entirely on a tarmac path and has no steep gradients. Pushers go free!
All finishers will receive a medal plus a '*Goody Bag*' for all children!.
There will be a 1st and 2nd Male and Female trophy, plus a trophy for the Fastest Boy & Girl under 12.

The Bradford-on-Avon Lions Club 5K is run partly on tarmac, partly on grass and partly on the Kennet & Avon canal tow path. The terrain is fairly flat and even, although the grass section may be ridged or muddy according the the weather conditions at the time.
It is open to those aged 12 and over. All finishers will receive a medal and goody bag. There will be trophies awarded for 1st 2nd and 3rd Male & female and prizes for 40+, 50+ and 60+
