TRAVEL & PARKING
There is no parking available at The Sailing Club, however, in order to keep the carbon footprint of the event to a minimum, we suggest using public transport, walking or cycling. As there is no parking available at The Sailing Club we have arranged a Park & Ride from Donibristle Primary School, with last bus leaving at 10am. Bikes can be left at the Sailing Club and are left at owner's own risk.
There are toilet facilities provided within the Sailing Club. There are no facilities on the route.
ASSEMBLY & MUSTER
All competitors should make their way to the start line 10 mins before race start time.
This is a multi-terrain route that includes smooth trails, some tarmac and woodland. We may have to alter the race route and distance due to forestry or other essential maintenance work. If the race is cancelled due to severe weather conditions or any other unforeseen circumstances, then we will reschedule the race to a later date. Dogs and pushchairs are not allowed on either race.
Please obey any signals and directions given by any route marshals – for safety reasons please do not wear headphones. The route will be well marked, and marshals will be in place at road crossings and other key points. In the interests of the safety of both competitor and marshal there will be a two hour cut off for the 10k. There will be a sweeper who will carry a first aid kit and assist in administering minimal First Aid if required.
Events like this can be strenuous and the organisers cannot accept responsibility for any accidents or injuries. By entering this race you are confirming you understand that participation at this event is at your own risk. Two first-aid teams will be available at the start/finish area and at Braefoot woods. Anyone withdrawing during the race should report to the nearest marshal.
EMERGENCY CONTACTS/MEDICAL INFORMATION
Please ensure you write your emergency contact details on the reverse of your race number. Please also include any medical information which may assist the first aid team in the event of injury or illness.
Markers will be in place at km intervals.
There will be a water station at roughly halfway point (5km). Hot drinks and baking will be available at the finish, for participants only.
Prizes will be awarded to the first 3 finishers in the male and female category and winners at age categories. Over aged 18 finishers will receive a commemorative bottle of beer from Inner Bay Brewery.
The race will be chip timed, and results will be available on the event Facebook page as soon as possible after the event.
