Ayr '3 Castles' Duathlon
23 Apr 2017
Historical, scenic and unique - that's the Ayrodynamic ‘3 Castles’ Duathlon.
Run out and back past Greenan Castle, perched on a sheer cliff, then cycle south along the spectacular Ayrshire coastline. On the journey, if you can lift your head, see ancient Dunure Castle, then sweep down to the turn in view of Culzean Castle, where American Presidents have stayed. If that's not enough, you also get to pedal down (or ‘up’) the world famous 'Electric Brae' where you will have to drop down through your gears to descend!
Finally it’s back over the lovely Carrick Hills and into Rabbie Burns’ own backyard.
Race route: Run route is same for both legs and is an out and back course based on the Ayr Sprint Tri run course (mostly footpath). Bike route is undulating and takes in a loop heading south from Ayr along the coast road, via 'Electric Brae' and returning via the Maybole-Alloway road (mostly left turns).
