Aberfeldy Familiarisation (swim focus)

29 Jul 17

Welcome to the Aberfeldy Triathlon Swim Focus Familiarisation Day.

If you are relatively new to Traithlon and have already completed a Sprint or Standard Race but wanted to step up to the longer distance this day is designed for you.

We have teamed up with Neil Scholes of Performance Edge www.performance-edge.me  who is comeing on board as our Event Coaching partner.
Neil has been involved in triathlon for over twenty years both at a coaching and participatory level having come initially from a run background. In triathlon he has had a varied background, coaching both at Elite level, where he worked with former Triathlon Scotland Performance Coach Chris Volley, working with the Elite squad at the University of Bath from 2006. In addition to the Elite Squad Neil also coached the highly successful Student Squad and Team Bath Tribe, the youth triathlon club. At a club level he was the first coach with Bristol and District Triathletes, a club that grew to over 400 members and also coached smaller clubs grass roots clubs before moving back to his native Scotland where he is currently working with Perth Triathlon Club. Throughout his time he utilised his accumulated experiences to work to impact and drive athletic and coaching programmes for Triathletes at all levels; from first timers, through to Ironman and ITU age group winners and Kona (Ironman World Championships) qualifiers but also working with Runners from first time 5k runners through to double Olympians (London 2012 and Rio 2016) at the marathon distance. In 2012 another taste of the Elite level was when he was asked to work with the Kenyan Olympic Squad who, pre Olympics were based in Bristol, and conduct and present run video analysis findings to their Olympic Committee. He coaches some individual athletes and holds triathlon training camps in addition to the work he does with clubs.
