Organiser's Description


It is with regret that we have had to cancel this year's Charnwood Hills Race. Following the heavy rains, the trustees of Bradgate Park withdrew permission for us to cross the Park. As such we had no alternative but to cancel the race.

We have issued a refund to all entrants, this refund is for the full amount i.e. £17. The refund will be returned to the cardholder who made the payment for the original entry. For those of you that have transferred places you'll need to arrange to pass on the refund to the person who has taken your place as appropriate.

Once again we're really sorry not to be hosting you for the race this year. We will be taking steps to try and secure the running of the race next year so we hope to see you in 2021.

The Bowline Climbing Club are pleased to be hosting the 34th Charnwood Hills race on Sunday 2nd February 2020.  This is a FELL RACE under Fell Running Association rules.  The course is approx 14 miles long and follows public footpaths and open country involving 1,200 feet of ascent over Bradgate, Broombriggs and Beacon Hill Country Parks. Entries are on a first come first served basis, entries will open at 7pm on Sunday 10th November here on EntryCentral. Entries are expected to sell out very quickly so we recommend setting up an account on EntryCentral before entries open. Please read the race prospectus before completing entering the race. Upon successfully entering the race the entry fee of £17 will taken from your debit/credit card. Note that we will guarantee places for the three fastest women and three fastest men from last year’s race (if you are one of these persons please contact us if you are not able to get an entry). 

The categories for the race are now aligned to the FRA categories for Women (U21, U23, Senior, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70 and 75) and for Men (U21, U23, Senior, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, and 75). We will give prizes to the first 3 women and men, and then a prize for the winner of each category. Although the FRA don't have team categories we will continue to do teams, with a prize for the 1st women and men's teams with first 3 to count in each team (bottle of wine for each team member of the winning team). We will also give a prize to the first Bowline Woman and Man. This year's race will also feature some extra spot prizes!

All details entered into the EntryCentral system are kept secure and only used for the purpose of organising the race, and for publishing the results of the race. For information on how we handle personal data and details of your rights in respect to your data held by the club, please see our privacy policy. Payment is handled by EntryCentral using SagePay.
The race is limited to 350 runners. No entries are allowed on the race day.

Entries are non refundable, however entries may be transferred using your EntryCentral account up until Sunday 26th January 2020.
