Organiser's Description

EVENT CANCELLED 

 

It is with regret that Committee has taken the decision to cancel this year's ToA. We have done everything within our power to work around restrictions to allow a rescheduled race to take place on 29th May. 

Unfortunately, due to an issue (unrelated to Ards CC) that impacts PSNI's ability to support the event, we are no longer able to run the race as originally planned or on a revised route with a shorter circuit. 

 

Due to the nature of the race and levels of traffic on the roads used, we do not feel that risk can be managed to acceptable levels without PSNI support. We hope that the issue can be resolved to enable us to run next year's ToA.


NB - No riders have been charged an entry fee.

Tour Of Ards Cycle Race

Saturday 29th May 2021

 

Ards Cycling Club are proud to once again run our established ‘Spring Classic’ which will see riders race around the beautiful Ards Peninsula for the coveted Tommy Brown Memorial Trophy.  Again we have the support of the PSNI motorbikes to assist with the running of the event.  Thanks to Bioracer who are providing the winners jersey.

 

The route can be viewed here. Total distance is 92 km.

 

Total prize fund is £750 with £175 for the winner.

Entry fee   £20 Senior -   £15 Junior

Eligible categories - A* A1, A2, A3, Jun


All riders must have a valid Cycling Ireland licence

 

Please note entries are not on a first come first served basis. Applications for entry will close on Friday 21st May. (Online entry only).  The organising committee will meet and finalise the start list shortly after and you will be informed by email if your application has been successful.

 

Appropriate Covid-19 procedures will be in place at all times.
