Kirkcudbright Half Marathon & Buckland Burn Up

Kirkcudbright Half Marathon with a new exciting route.

Buckland Burn Up - 5 mile Road Race/Fun Run.

Juniors Fun Run (~1km)

2024 is the second year of our new and exciting Half-Marathon route here in Kirkcudbright, brought to you by Kirkcudbright Summer Festivities. Both the Half-Marathon and The Buckland Burn Up are wonderfully scenic, but challenging routes. Both come with fantastic sea-side views, tranquil woodland settings, and beautiful farmland, all set in and around the lovely harbour town of Kirkcudbright. 

Our Junior Fun Run (5-14) is a roughly 1km route round the park and parts of the town. We also have a Mini's Dash, which is a free to enter on the day run around the park (4 and under, parental supervision is required)

Walking:

The Half Marathon will support entries for walkers (un-timed), who will be set off 1 hour earlier. The Buckland Burn Up will not have any official support for walkers this year. We require any walkers with dogs to keep them on a short lead and out of the way of runners for safety.
 

Venue:

Hope Dunbar Park Kirkcudbright

The easiest way to the park is from St Cuthbert's Street, up the hill past Tesco near the town centre.

There is will be limited parking at the park itself, but all public vehicle movements are strictly prohibited after 10am, and before every race has finished. Plenty of free parking is available in town, with a short walk up to the start.

Start times:

Half Marathon Walkers: 10:00 am

Half Marathon Runners: 11:00 am

Buckland Burn Up Runners: 11:30 am

Juniors 11:40 am (may change on the day)

Entry Fees:

Half Marathon Runners: £20.00

Half Marathon Walkers: £6.50

Buckland Burn Up Runners: £6.50

Please be cautious and respect others at all times, bear in mind you run at your own risk. Strictly no headphones. Keep left unless told otherwise by stewards/signage
