The 2010 Edinburgh Duathlon will give competitors a fantastic oportunity to race on roads closed to traffic in the heart of Scotland’s capital.
The Duathlon is open to all, requires no qualification and embraces athletes at all levels of ability.
This will be the venue of the 2010 World Duathlon Championships later in the year.

The race format will be :
Duathlon - 5k run, 20k cycle, 5k run.
The Duathlon will be one mass start race for all age-groups and the cycle and run sections take place in and around Holyrood Park. Starting from near the Holyrood road entrance to Holyrood Park, participants will first run a scenic and hilly 5k within the Park, and then get onto their bikes for a challenging 4 laps around Arthur's Seat, before finishing off with a second 5k run in the park. Run and bike course maps to be posted soon!
The cycle section is NON-DRAFTING. This race will be run under Triathlon Scotland rules.
This year the transition area will be inside Holyrood park adjacent to the Holyrood road entrance.

The Sick Kids Friends Foundation supports the work of the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh. The Hospital receives over 100,000 children through its doors each year from all over the East of Scotland and the money raised goes towards helping children and families at the hospital.
