Kyles 10 Miles Run/Walk Tweet
The challenging Kyles 10 Miles fun run is an unrivalled scenic route around the Ardlamont penninsula with views of the Mull of Kintyre and Arran. The first five miles are hilly and challenging flattening out for the second half of the run. With the option for a run or walk start staggered in the morning we are hopeful that walkers will not be left too far behind!
2013 will be our 4th year and will be a fantastic event if it is half as good as 2012. We are delighted once again to be sponsored by The Forrest Group.
The 10 mile road race, under 2 hours from Glasgow, has already become one of the most stunning runs in Scotland. The route covers part of Argyll’s Secret Coast which is a little know area of natural beauty on the west coast of Scotland. The circular route is a gem, once uncovered never forgotten, with majestic mountains and a secluded coastal road providing the runner with amazing views and challenges.
Everyone over the finish line will receive a medal, t-shirt** and goody bag to reward your efforts, with trophies for the winners.
Whether you are a seasoned veteran or a 1st time runner, our unrivalled location provides an idyllic setting for the race. With categories to suit all, come and join us on the start line.
Registration will take place at the Kames Hall between 10am-11.45am where there are toilet and changing facilities. This year there will also be a local producers market in the hall with lots of local produce, crafts and home baking to tempt you. The race will start at the shinty pitch* at 12 noon (walkers 11am), a five minute walk from the hall, and finishes in front of the Kames Hotel. The Hall will be available for runners to leave their gear (all valuables left at your own risk) and to change after the event.
As usual the Kames Hotel will be running a BBQ at the end of the race to provide much needed fuel for the participants and onlookers.
*The race start may be on the main road rather than the shinty pitch subject to weather conditions on the day.
**Please order your t-shirt size when registering. We will endeavour to honour your size on the day.
