The club is active in road racing, time trials and track. Members also compete in offroad events. We also have an active Junior section, The Ayr Burners, catering for junior riders between 12 & 16 years of age.
In 2014 Ayr Roads will promote four events - the Pennyglen Time Trial on 15th May, the Davie Bell Road Race on the 22nd June, The Straiton Struggle - 27th April and a 25 mile TT event on 8th June.**All dates to be confirmed**. All club members are encouraged(!) to help the organisers with these events, or provide a good excuse!
New for this year - A 2014 Club League. This will cover cyclocross, hill climbs, timetrials and group rides, culminating in the fearsome freewheel. All members welcome, the events will cover the year from February to November.
We welcome your contribution to the club, and your hard earned pennies. (£20 for senior - £5 for under 18s and students) As a club member please take the time to familiarise yourself with our constitution. It's not the most exciting document ever, but it may come in handy! visit ayrroadscc.com/documents/constitution
Insurance cover for cyclists is becoming more and more important these days. We encourage members to take out insurance by joining Scottish Cycling (British Cycling) and/or the CTC. Both these organisations provide excellent insurance cover as well as other benefits - for example, a race licence through BC will provide discounted entries and eligibility for Scottish Championship events.
