Dalby Dare
Start Location
Event Information
Dalby Dare is not open for public entries yet, and it is currently being tested by its organisers. You will not be able to make a test entry unless you have a relevant password.

Ever looked on from the sidelines of a International Mountain Bike race and thought ‘I could do that’? Well now you’ve got the chance! On Saturday 24th April the first ever Dalby Dare takes place during the 2010 UCI Mountain Bike Cross-Country World Cup weekend. Dalby Dare gives you the opportunity to take on the World Cup course and compare yourself to the professionals under World Cup conditions.

In Dalby Dare there will be no winners or losers, as this is not a race, however it’s not a challenge for have a go heroes, no taking it easy up the climbs, its finish line or home time!

Dalby Dare gives you the opportunity to line up on the World Cup start line and take on a full timed lap of the World Cup course, before setting off onto the rest of the Dalby Dare course, taking in the fabulous trails that Dalby Forest has to offer! So after being timed on your World Cup lap and facing the challenging Worry Gill and Medusas Drop, you’ll then head out and be timed to ride the switch-backing Addersback climb, a long, fast and rocky descent down Dargate Slack and the steepening technical climb up Tom Milners Grain, before traversing round Peat Head Rigg and rejoining the World Cup course to do it all again!

Now we mentioned that this wasn’t a challenge for the fainthearted and this is also true when it comes to the time you’ve got in which to complete the Dalby Dare. There will be a cut off time to gain access to the final lap of the course. It’s not a race, but you won’t have time for a picnic on the way round. Cut off isn’t aimed to make unnecessary eliminations from the challenge and we hope you’ll all make it round, but in the event you can’t, we have to let the marshals go home sometime, we hope you’ll understand that they all have a busy day ahead of them on the Sunday marshalling the Elite Women’s and Men’s World Cup races! Whatever your speed, each rider will be timed individually on their World Cup lap and for the whole Dalby Dare challenge.

Remember these are all Black Grade trails and not for the faint-heated – think carefully before signing yourself up.

Distance: 30km

Terrain: Built for the best in the World! Dalby Dare is a course build on black grade trails.
