Each team member completes a 750m swim in relay followed by a 20k bike in relay and finally a 5k run triathlon in relay.

This is a showpiece event for Eastern Region, offering the chance for clubs and other teams to compete in a relay event, where everyone swims, everyone bikes and everyone runs. It is being organised by the Triathlon England Eastern Region in co-operation with Born2Tri and (hopefully) all clubs in the region

The competition is based on the time elapsed from the first team member starting their swim to the third team member finishing their run. The teams can be made up of any combination of age and sex to race in the open categories, but there is also an opportunity for Vet athletes to race in their own category providing all members of the team meet the age requirements. The minimum age for competitors is 15yrs on 31/12/10. Teams will compete in one of the following categories:
Male - Three males, any age
Female - Three female, any age
Mixed - Male & female
Male Vet 40 + - Three males all over 40 years as at 31/12/2010.
Female Vet 40 + - Three females all over 40 years as at 31/12/2010.

SWIM - 750 metre open water lake swim, in the picturesque setting of the Gosfield Lake Resort.

CYCLE - A single lap road course, totalling 20km. This is a testing and undulating course, along mainly rural roads. Starting at the Gosfield Lake Resort, passing through Gosfield, Sible Hedingham, Blackmore End and returning to the resort.

RUN - A single lap, multi terrain run on roads, paths and tracks through adjacent farmland.

Transition area and finish will be situated within the Gosfield Lake Resort. Changing, refreshment and toilet facilities are available on the site. The first swim start will be at 8am.

Rules
This event will be held under the rules of the British Triathlon.
Your bicycle must be in a mechanically safe condition.
An approved cycle helmet must be worn on the cycle section. NO HELMET NO RACE.
A referee will be present throughout the race.

Withdrawal Policy - There may be circumstances when a team must be withdrawn from the event; for withdrawals prior to 26 June 2010 Eastern Region will provide a refund less a £15 administration fee (no refunds will be available after that date). The 3 man team does not need to be confirmed until 2 July 2010; changes on the day due to last minute sickness or injury may be accepted providing all competitors have completed the necessary paperwork and signed the disclaimer.

If you are not a British Triathlon Home Nation member, you are required to purchase a day membership to take part in a sanctioned event. A day membership provides you with personal liability insurance cover during the event. The cost of the day membership for this event is £3.00 per athlete, and is already included in the entry fee. A £3 refund will be given at registration to all competitors who provide a valid 2010 Triathlon England, Triathlon Wales or Scottish Triathlon membership card (formerly BTA membership).
