Stirling Triathlon Club 2010 Club InformationStirling Triathlon Club was formed in the late 1980’s to cater
for the demand in the area for a club focusing on Triathlon.
From these humble beginnings the club has flourished to
become one of the larger more established clubs in the Stirling
area organizing some of the biggest and best events on the triathlon calendar.
The Club provides opportunities for all adults, young people,
their parents and volunteers to become involved in Triathlon.
The club encourages fun, participation, sportsmanship and the
social aspects of sport to anyone interested in participating. All
we ask in return is that you respect the other members of the
club, other clubs and officials who support the sport.
Stirling Triathlon Club is registered with and has insurance
through Triathlon Scotland. The Club also has the Stirling
Sports Council Charter Club Mark.
The club has two main means of communication:
Website & Forums @ http://www.stirlingtri.co.uk
As a member you are entitled to have a userid on the website that gives you access to the private forums to discuss training, races etc.
YahooGroups (aka e-group), our club email group. We announce training session cancellations etc. If you are a new member you'll need to join this by sending an email to stirlingtri-subscribe@yahoogroups.com and your subscription will be approved. If you have any problems using the group please contact me on andrewgturnbull@hotmail.com
If you plan on racing more than a couple of times in Scotland this summer it is probably worth you buying a triScotland race licence. Further details should be available at http://www.triathlonscotland.org/
When racing at events sanctioned by triathlonScotland, please remember to put your club name down as "Stirling Triathlon Club" - no abbreviated forms or variations please - this ensures your result counts for your club in the Scottish club championships!
On a related note, it's great to race at events in the club colours not least to meet your fellow club mates! The club regularly buys high quality kit for training and racing. Watch for regular announcements on email, which is usually ordered in batches a couple of times a year.
Stirling Triathlon Club is one of the largest tri clubs in Scotland and organises several of the biggest and best events in the triathlon calendar. These are the
Stirling Aquathlon & Kids Aquathlon
Stirling Triathlon, Novice, Relay & Kids Triathlon
Stirling Duathlon & Kids Duathlon
The success of these events relies on members helping out with organising, marshalling and helping in many different ways. As a member we ask you to help at these races. It's also a terrific way to meet other members! Club members certainly do race at these events but we generally ask that if you race, you provide a nominated marshall to help out.
Any questions? Drop me an email on andrewgturnbull@hotmail.com
