The Bangcock Challenge Duathlon 2007
Start Location
Event Information
The Bangcock Challenge Duathlon 2007 is not open for public entries yet, and it is currently being tested by its organisers. You will not be able to make a test entry unless you have a relevant password.

RULES - The event will be run under Triathlon Scotland competition rules (no drafting).

ENTRIES - By post or via entrycentral. No acknowledgement of entries will be sent out except via entrycentral. The number of entries is limited to 50.

REGISTRATION will be at the Tinto hill car park (not the tearoom car park) from 10.00am, briefing at 10.45.Race starts at 11am.

EMERGENCY KIT comprising wind and waterproof full body cover and whistle must be carried for the entire route. Kit will be checked at the start and finish.

SAFETY This is an arduous event which should not be undertaken by anyone who is unfit or inexperienced in the hills. Tinto may look like a gentle slope but it is a tough run and the wind chill can make it very cold on the hill at this time of the year. Sections of the path are fairly rocky and great care must be taken, especially on the downhill run.
A strict time cut off will be in operation ? if time elapsed after the cycle is greater than 2hrs 15 mins then the competitor will not be allowed to start the second run.
The cycle route follows mainly country roads which may be in poor condition. Bearing in mind the time of year, there may be snow or ice on the roads. Use suitable tyres and take care.
Competitors must be at least 20 years old. The organisers cannot accept any liability for any accident or injuries. Full medical cover will be in attendance.
