400m swim, 23k bike, 5k run.

The Dunmow Triathlon is based at a very modern and well equipped leisure centre in Great Dunmow, Essex. The race starts in the 25m indoor pool, having the benefit of just two racers in a lane. There is a spacious transition area within the centre grounds, which form the focus of the race. The cycle course is mainly on rural roads, a single lap of 23km, passing through Thaxted, Tilty, Little Easton and back to Great Dunmow. This is followed by a one lap run over a mixture of paths and grassland. The pool swim and traffic free run course makes it an ideal race for novices and young competitors, minimum age 17yrs on race day. This will be a chip timed event for accurate and quick results.

Entry Limit: 300 competitors

Distances: -

SWIM - 400 metre pool swim at at the leisure centre pool. There will be a maximum of two swimmers per lane, seeded according to the declared swim time.

CYCLE - A single lap road course, totalling 23km. This is a testing and undulating course, along mainly rural roads.

RUN - A one lap, multi terrain run on paths and grassland surrounding the leisure centre. This has a hill at the start but flattens out for the last 2km

The transition area will be situated in the grounds of the leisure centre with shower and changing facilities available at the leisure centre itself. The first swim start will be at 8.00am.

Rules
This event will be held under the rules of the British Triathlon.
Your bicycle must be in a mechanically safe condition.
An approved cycle helmet must be worn on the cycle section. NO HELMET NO RACE.
A referee will be present throughout the race.

Withdrawal Policy - Dunmow Tri acknowledge racers will on occasion need to withdraw an entry through injury or other reason. Dunmow Tri will accept written notification of a withdrawal, received by the organiser prior to the closing date. A refund will be made less a £5 administration fee. After the closing date no refund or substitution will be accepted.
