Event Information

The Clacton Triathlon Weekend, in aid of the Brain and Spine Foundation, takes place this year on 25th and 26th September.

The event is based at the Holland Haven Country Park, Clacton-on-Sea, Essex.
There is ample free parking close to the large transition area which is situated beside the sea on the Greensward at Holland Haven.

Over the weekend there are three events:
The Clacton Children's Off-Road Duathlon for children aged 9 to 14*
The Clacton Off-Road Sprint Triathlon for those aged 15 and over* including a 750m Open Water Sea Swim
The 12th Clacton Standard Triathlon for those aged 17 and over* including a 1500m Open Water Sea Swim

* Ages as at 31st December 2010

Since their inception, 12 years ago, the Clacton Triathlon has supported the Brian & Spine Foundation raising over £42,000 to help fund research in brain and spine conditions and injuries. Initially, this choice was due to the misfortune of two members of Clacton Swimming Club, an organisation to which the organisers are closely linked. Our motivation and choice of charity has been reinforced over recent years due to subsequent Brain and Spine related conditions which have afflicted other members, past and present, of Clacton Swimming Club. The Triathlon is now an annual focus for those surviving members and the families of those who are no longer with us. They all take an active part in assisting us to make the event a success.
