1. I am considering allowing online entries for my race, how can EntryCentral help me?
Your race appears on the homepage when you register it. Competitors can then enter your race online, and you can download their details when you want. EntryCentral knows that you will continue to receive paper forms, and you can enter the details of these competitors through the website or enter them on your own race databases if you have one. You can control how many entries you get so you don't exceed your race maximum. For your race you can upload a 1Mbyte PDF (Portable Document Format) file which can contain information you want your competitors to see (e.g. race-day instructions, simple maps, sponsors' logos). You will receive a payment from EntryCentral every month for new entries. The big advantages for race organisers are

2. I want to enter a race, how does EntryCentral help me?
Once you fill out your basic details and have answered any questions that the race organiser has asked for the race, you are presented with a choice of paying by cheque or paying by card.

If you choose to pay by cheque you are given a reference number to write on the back of the cheque, which you then send off to the race organiser.

If you choose to pay by card you'll be brought to a secure payment screen where you enter your payment details. Once the transaction has been completed your entry is verified and your details are shown in the list of competitors for that race. The main advantages are:

3. What are the transaction charges for?
EntryCentral has incurred setup fees, and pays card processing charges and internet hosting charges on an ongoing basis. To keep the service viable, there is a modest transaction charge applied to each race entry. This rate compares favourably with other online entry sites. Larger races (500+) may be able to negotiate a better rate - If you are an interested organiser of a larger race, please contact EntryCentral for more info.

4. What is EntryCentral's Privacy Policy?
EntryCentral will give your personal details only to the race organiser for the race you have entered. We will not divulge your details to any other third party at all. We get enough spam already.

5. What is your refunds policy?
If you paid by cheque you will have to obtain the refund from the race organiser - that's where you sent the cheque after all.

If you paid by card, you will be refunded back onto the card that you paid for the entry with.

The refund amount for each race is determined by the refund policy for that race. Each refund is initiated by the race organiser. If the race has a website the race refund policy may be listed there, otherwise the organiser will be able to tell you.

Where EntryCentral has completed an entry on the user's behalf, it has then completed its obligation to that user for that entry in that race. For that reason, any refund from the Organiser will be less any transaction charge applied by EntryCentral. It is a condition of entry that you accept this. Let's face it - if you get a refund from a race with a paper entry form, you don't expect to get the price of your stamps back.

6. How are my card details kept secure?
As of June 2003 card payments are handled by Protx and Lloyds TSB Cardnet; Entrycentral is never exposed to, nor has access to, your card details at any stage.

After you fill in an entry form, you will be redirected to a Protx secure server which uses 128-bit encryption to protect your card details as you transmit them to the Protx server. Once payment is complete, Protx informs EntryCentral that the entry has been paid for and then the user is returned to an EntryCentral screen.

7. I've entered incorrect personal details, how do I get them fixed?
Reply to the email receipt that you received, indicating what you want changed. The organiser will then change those details for you on EntryCentral.

8. Why do some events have transaction charges but not others?
Organsers can choose whether the competitor should pay the transaction charge upfront, or whether to pay the transaction charge later themselves, or a mixture of both. Where the organiser chooses to pay the transaction charge themselves, there is no surcharge to the entrant.

9. What do the Age Group codes mean on the list of competitors?
These codes have been specified by the race organiser for the event. They often follow guidelines from the National Governing Body. Please contact the individual organiser for more details.

10. How long has EntryCentral been in business?
EntryCentral opened for business in March 2003 to take entries for Gullane Beach Triathlon. We opened the doors to feature-rich interface for organisers of other races in October 2003.

11. WITH GODS GREETINGS! I AM A EXCELLENT YOUNG TRIATHLETE FROM AFRICA, AND I WANT TO TRIATHLON IN YOUR COUNTRY. PLEASE SEND A LETTER OF SPONSORSHIP AND PLANE TICKETS
This is not a service that we are interested in providing.

12. Can I be added to the waiting list for a race please?
Yes, but this is not something that we need to do for you. If the event is showing as "Waiting List" then fill in an entry form to be added to the waiting list. If the event is showing as "Closed", then the organiser has decided to take no more entries.
