Race Description:

Start: 1am Saturday 6th July 2024

The Great Glen Ultra Marathon is a stunning 73mile (114km) foot race between Fort William and Inverness following the Great Glen Way. The event is for solo runners and is designed to be unsupported with drop bags/checkpoint located at 6 points along the route. The route is fully marked with waymark and arrow signs.

The route starts at Corpach and follows the Caladonia Canal running past the famous Neptune Staircase and on passing, Loch Lochy, Loch Oich to Fort Augustas where you will head off up hill with stunning views of Loch Ness all the way to Drummnadrochit after which the final climb takes you over the hill and down into Inverness and finishing at Inverness Sports Centre with a lap of the 400m track just to complete your epic journey along the Great Glen Way.

Runners can either make their own way to Corpach or in most case runners find accomadation in Inverness and use the bus service on offer at an addtional cost. 

The bus leaves at 9.30pm on the Friday night from Inverness Sport Centre and travels to Kilmallie Hall for runners to registry and leave drop bags. 

Runners are invited to the presentation/prize giving on the Sunday morning at the sports centre where all runners acheivements are recognised.

Deferrals/Refund Policy:

Runners are reminded that Rocket Events dont do deferrals. Deferrals will only come into play if there are travel restrictions or lockdowns in place due to covid 19.

Refund:

• 30 day cooling off period will apply, withdrawal in this period will result in a £15 administration fee being applied.
• After 30 days a 50% refund will be offered up to 12 weeks before race day.
• 0-12 weeks 0% refund will be offered.
• No transfer of places between runners.
