Event Summary

Welcome to the Mabie 10K Trail Race, organised by Dumfries Harriers.  The race will take place on Sunday 4th June 2023 at 11 am starting and finishing at the entrance to the forest drive to Marthrown.

The race is staged on the beautiful trails and paths of Mabie Forest, which is situated just 4 miles south of Dumfries, off the A710.  The race will be operated as per UK Athletics rules and under a Scottish Athletics permit. Race entry limited to 100 runners.

Entry costs just £16.50 for SA/EA/WA affiliated members, £18.50 for Non-affiliated runners, which includes:

• Chip timing

• On course water stop

• Unique prize and goody bag for every finisher

• Marshalled route

• First aid

Entries will close at 9.00pm on Saturday 3rd June 2022, or before if event is full.

There will be no refunds given once you enter, so please don’t take a place if you’re unsure about running on the day. If the race is unable to go ahead due to unforeseen circumstances or adverse course conditions, which would impact on the safety of competitors, we will post notice of this on the Dumfries Harriers website and Facebook page, the day before.

Limited on the day entries at a cost of £20.00 will be available if race is not full, you need to have registered by 10.30am latest.

Registration

Registration will be open at the registration tent from 10am and will close at 10.45am sharp.   Here you can collect your race number and timing chip, and leave your bag (at your own risk).

Please note parking within Mabie Forest is chargeable (£3.00 for 3 hours or £4.00 all day), please car share where possible and park courteously.   There are public toilets below the main car park, max 10 mins walk from start.

Race start

The start line will be situated in front of the courtyard building located to the left of Mabie House Hotel and will be clearly marked on race day with our Dumfries Harrier flags and timing equipment.

A pre-race briefing will take place at 10.55am to which all competitors must attend.  The race starts at 11am.

Racecourse

The course, follows a mixture of the main fire roads and some of the walking paths around Mabie Forest, there are occasional crossing points with the mountain bike routes, all of which are open to other users during the race. The route itself is undulating but suitable for runners.  Trail shoes recommended.
