Edinburgh Leisure Aquathlon

Edinburgh Leisure is delighted to introduce our Youth Aquathlon, which is part of the triathlonscotland Youth Series for 2015.

The event will be held at Drumbrae Leisure Centre, Edinburgh, EH4 7SE and is open to complete beginners and existing club athletes.  The course is traffic free and makes use of the ample pitches surrounding the leisure centre.  Athletes should bring swimming and running kit and be prepared to run outdoors in swimming costumes with t-shirt and trainers thrown on over the top.

Registration

Registration will be in the Registration Marquee on the outside pitches or in the event of bad weather in the Activity Room on the left hand side as you enter the leisure centre. Parking at Drumbrae Leisure Centre is limited, so please car share if possible, cycle or use public transport.

Registration is from 9am with the first race starting at 10.15am prompt. When you submit your entry you will need to provide an estimated swim time. Please be as accurate as possible so that you are placed in the appropriate lane for your speed, safety and enjoyment of the race.

Tristar Start: This route will be a short lap

Tristar 1: This group will run two long laps.

Tristar 2: This group will run three long laps and finish with one short lap.

Tristar 3/Youth: This group will run three long laps and finish with one short lap.

Medal Ceremony

The presentation will take place at the finish line following completion of all the children's heats.

PLEASE NOTE: The Decision of the Referee on the day of the event is final. Any queries must be raised on the day. Results will not be changed after the event.

Races will take place under triathlonscotland rules as part of their Youth Aquathlon Series. To be eligible to win a national ranking series award, youth participants must be members of triathlonscotland and compete in four or more national series events.  However, you do not need to be a member or compete in more than one series event to take part in this competition as this race is looking to serve as an introduction to the sport of triathlon as well as serve current club athletes with an additional competitive opportunity.
