Ayr Roads Cycling Club
Congratulations! You are signing up to join Ayrshire's favourite, best, and most brilliant cycling club - Ayr Roads CC
Ayr Roads Cycling Club was founded in 1930, is the leading cycling club in South Ayrshire and one of the most active clubs in the West of Scotland. The club is affiliated with Scottish Cycling and the Ayrshire and Dumfriesshire Cycling Association.
Our membership includes regional, national and international medal winners in all disciplines of cycle sport. It also includes many amatuer hacks who enjoy the social runs and community offered by the club.
The club is active in road racing, time trials and track. Members also compete in offroad events. We also have an active Junior section, The Ayr Burners, catering for junior riders between 12 & 16 years of age.
In 2015 Ayr Roads will promote four events - the Pennyglen Time Trial on 14th May, the Davie Bell Road Race on the 31st May and The Straiton Struggle on the 28th March, plus the second running of the DoonBank Trofee Cyclocross Event, date TBA. **All dates to be confirmed**. All club members are encouraged to help the organisers with these events.
Following the success of the 2014 Club League, which included cyclocross, hill climbs, timetrials group rides and the fearsome freewheel, there will be an enhanced version this year with the introduction of two new events. The league will run between February and November 2015.
We welcome your contribution to the club, and your hard earned pennies. (£20 for senior - £5 for under 18s and students) As a club member please take the time to familiarise yourself with our constitution. It's not the most exciting document ever, but it may come in handy! visit ayrroadscc.com/documents/constitution
Insurance cover for cyclists is becoming more and more important these days. We encourage members to take out insurance by joining Scottish Cycling (British Cycling) and/or the CTC. Both these organisations provide excellent insurance cover as well as other benefits - for example, a race licence through BC will provide discounted entries and eligibility for Scottish Championship events.
