Incorporating The Scottish Middle Distance Championships
1900m open water swim, 90km bike, 21km run
Start Time: 07:00 at Taymouth Marina Loch Tay
Registration: Saturday 15 August from 12:00 – 20:00 at Breadalbane Community Campus, NB there will be no registration on Race Day.
Race Briefing: The race briefing will take place at the Athlete welcome party at Breadalbane Community Campus
Equipment: Wet suits and cycle helmets are obligatory and neoprene swim caps recommended.
Closing Date: All entries must be received by Monday 10 August.
Prizes: Award categories in the Aberfeldy Race and Scottish National Championships will be : Male and Female 19, 20-39,40-49,50-59,60-69, 70+ and Team.

We welcome Team entries, Please note the following details if you are entering in the team section. The team competition will run within the individual event. You can enter teams comprising of two or three athletes. Swimmers will start off with the timing chip which will act as the relay “baton” throughout the race.
Each team will be allocated a race number, which can be found on www.liveactive.co.uk 3 days prior to race day. At registration, your team will be issued with two race numbers, one for Cyclist and One for Runner. The race numbers for teams will follow a different sequence to those of the individual event to allow easier identification on the course.
Swim to Bike transition
On exiting the swim the team swimmer must run into their transition area space, remove their wet suit, remove their timing chip and pass this on to the team cyclist who will be waiting in the transition area by their bike. The cyclist must place the chip around their left ankle before leaving transition with their helmet secure. Walk/run with your bike to the mount line and mount your bike beyond the mount line.
Bike to Run transition
On completion of the bike leg, dismount your bike at the dismount line and walk/run into the transition area. Pass your bike to the transition marshal before removing your helmet and chip. Team runners must be waiting in the designated waiting area. Cyclists must run into the area and pass on the chip to the runner. Runners then place the chip around their ankle before leaving the waiting area.
All competitors will receive an exclusive race memento.
We are delighted to announce that Powerbar are once again one of our event partners supplying Nutrition; Bars, Gels, and Energy Drinks at all Feed Stations on the Bike and Run feed stations. Details of aid station location and provisions will be issued in future event Newsletters.
Hands on Massage Therapies - Promoting Recovery.
For the third successive year I am pleased to inform you, Hands on Massage Therapies, based in Perth, will be providing massage through an experienced & professional team of massage therapists at the 2015 Middle Distance Triathlon Championships, Aberfeldy. Hands on Massage Therapies is delighted to be the exclusive provider for massage over the weekend following the excellent feedback from the athletes & supporters who benefited from the services of Hands on Massage Therapies at the 2013 Scottish Middle Distance Triathlon Championships, & 2014 British & Scottish Middle Distance Triathlon Championships, Aberfeldy.
Hands on Massage Therapies was started by Jim Scanlan, a 9 time Ironman finisher (including Australia, Austria, The Longest Day and Aberfeldy, twice) along with numerous other Middle Distance Triathlons. He has personally selected an outstanding team of massage therapists for their experience at massaging at sports events alongside their passion for professional service to those they massage.
Jim and his team will provide massage over the course of the weekend to triathletes as well as their friends, family & supporters. Massage Services as follows:

11:30 – 17:00 Post-Race Massage for Triathletes.
Massage sessions can be pre-booked for either 15 minutes or 30 minutes.
£10 for 15 minutes & £20 for 30 minutes.
Jim & his team look forward to welcoming you onto the massage couch over the weekend, whether it is for a pre-race massage or to aid recovery & promote healing post-event.
