Kings Moss Cycling Club Sportive in aid of Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for ChildrenTweet
Kings Moss Cycling Club invite riders of all abilities to a sportive challenge on Sunday 18th May 2014 on some of the best roads in County Antrim.
Kindly supported by Chain Reaction Cycles, the Kings Moss Sportive will again be held in aid of the Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children and aims to raise cash to help cancer care and support for children and their parents.
The 100 km event not only shows the best of our local and surrounding areas, but offers a challenging ride for experienced cyclists without doing so at the cost of those who are newer to the sport.
Kings Moss Cycling Club Chairman Tony Douglas explained: "It is our privilege to do everything we can to support the excellent work of the Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children. Although the excellent route we have put together will challenge the more experienced riders, we will make sure to look out for beginners too. After all, County Antrim has always provided some stunning roads for cycling, and we want to play host to as many riders as possible, from near and far, in aid of a very good cause," he said.
Dawn Weir, Community Fundraiser at NICFC commented: “We are delighted to be associated with Kings Moss Cycling Club, and would encourage cycling enthusiasts to come out and support the event. Each week in Northern Ireland three children or young people are diagnosed with cancer. The NICFC provides practical, emotional and financial support to these young people and their families and your support will make a real difference.”
The Kings Moss Sportive leaves Ballyclare Rugby Club, The Cloughan, Doagh Rd, Ballyclare, County Antrim, BT39 9JD on Sunday 18th May at 10am. Sign-on is from 9.00am at the same venue and car parking is available on site. Shower facilities and refreshments will also be available on return to the Rugby Club.
The sportive, which will be fully insured by the Cycle Touring Club, will feature a support car, refreshments, race marshals and supervision provided by veteran club members.
This is also an approved Cycling Ireland event.
A strictly limited number of entries are now available - advance registration is advised. The cost to register is £15, at least £10 of which will go to the Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children.
