Welcome to the Moray Road Runners 10km, please read your race notes thoroughly to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable race.  This route is an accurately measured 10km

Under UK Athletics Rules.  scottishathletics Licensed Event - 13328

Registration:  No entries on the Day. In accordance with UK Athletics rules, headphones are not allowed whilst running this course.  Bone conducting headphones are not allowed given the race takes place completely on open roads.

Anyone wearing headphones will be disqualifed.

MORAY ROAD RUNNERS 10K – INFORMATION FOR ENTRANTS

 

Please familiarise yourself with the following information.  This information is for everyone’s safety and all attendees must take responsibility for their own hygiene and safe conduct before, during and after attending the race. Any changes will be relayed to the runners as required. Runners are to adhere to any further guidelines provided.

 

Car Parking and Registration

 

Car parking is VERY limited this year, so please car share wherever possible.  Parking is available at Mosstowie Primary School as well as restricted parking at Miltonduff Distillery due to ongoing building works.  Both are only a 5 minute walk from Race HQ at Miltonduff Hall.

 

Registration and collection of race numbers will take place inside Miltonduff Hall from 12.45pm – 1.45pm. 

 

Toilets, Changing, Storage

 

Toilets will be available inside Miltonduff Hall.  There are no dedicated changing areas and participants are advised to arrive prepared to compete.

 

Water Stations

 

There will be no water station on route.  Runners are responsible for their own hydration.

 

Safety and First Aid

 

Please note that the race takes place on roads that remain open to traffic.

 

All runners are responsible for their own safety and must ensure that they remain aware of other road users at all times and can clearly hear instructions from marshals and other race officials.

 

All attendees are to follow the instructions of marshals to minimise congestion at registration, the race start and finish areas. The race will start promptly at 2pm and participants will be directed away from the finish area immediately after completing the race.

 

In accordance with UK Athletic rules, the wearing of headphones are not permitted.  Bone-conducting headphones are not allowed either, given that the race takes place on open roads.

 

Inverness Radio Volunteers will provide at least 3 vehicles – Lead Vehicle, Tail Vehicle and On-Course Vehicle.

Marshalling is provided by staff and cadets from 423 (Elgin) Squadron, Air Training Corps.

Participants are to run on the left-hand side of the road at all times.

First aid cover is provided by Event First Aid (Scotland).

 

Prize Giving

 

Prizegiving will take place in Miltonduff Hall once the results have been finalised.  Prizes will be allocated to Male and Female participants and awarded as follows:

 

Seniors – 1st, 2nd, 3rd

V40 – 1st, 2nd, 3rd

V50 – 1st, 2nd, 3rd

V60+ - 1st, 2nd, 3rd

Teams – First 3 scorers.

 

Cancellation, Refunds and Transfers

 

In the event that the Miltonduff 10k is cancelled by the Race Organisers, participants will receive a full refund of their entry fee. 

If you enter the race and are unable to run for whatever reason, we are unable to offer refunds or allow deferment to the following year. You can, however, arrange the transfer of your race entry to another runner using the transfer process on Entry Central. Please make transfers before the closing date of

Wed 20th March 2024. Please do not just give your entry to another runner as this is against UKA rules. 

 

Race Briefing:  There will be a race safety brief at the race start to go over any safety issues and answer any questions.

 

Start Time:  The race will start prompt from Miltonduff at 2pm.

 

Race Finish:  The race will finish at Miltonduff. 

 

General Information:  There is parking available at Mosstowie Primary School and Miltonduff Distillery. Please don't park at Miltonduff Hall as access will be required for organisers.  Please observe the parking areas to avoid blocking access for the workings of the Distillery..

Online entries will close at midnight Wed 20th March. EntryCentral will show the race as 'Closed' after this time.  Entries will not be accepted on race day.
