Toota-Linn

Way back in 2019, Alex and Michelle masterminded their first event, and fittingly it was in Linn Park. With support from an army of enthusiastic and noisy Glasgow South Road Runners, Toota-Linn made a brief appearance as race 2 in the Tour of Clydeside.

Since then a lot has changed. The Tour of Clydeside sadly disappeared from the calendar; a small rockfall in Linn Park has led to a prolonged closure of a path on the original route; and Acorn Trails has been born! And now Toota-Linn is back!

Race Night

That's right, it's an evening race starting at 18.30. Registration will be in the park near the manor house

Alex has made some tweaks to the route (those fantastic folk at Friends of Linn Park are working hard to secure funding to reopen the path on the original route), and in total contrast to April's Linn Park Trail Race, in June you will be able to tootle around Linn Park and not get your paws too dirty! Weather permitting of course! 

The two lap course is marginally under 8km in total and showcases this wonderful park on Glasgow's south side including the spectacular waterfall which gives the park it's name, and the Halfpenny Bridge AKA "The White Bridge", which was built in 1811 and is the oldest single-span cast iron bridge in Glasgow.

Full details of the route, drop bag and registration will be sent out during the week leading up to the event.

Finish line

Manually timed, so keep your race bib pinned in a nice clear place. Shirt or shorts is fine as long as we can see it on your front.

Water and snacks will be available at the finish.

The Old Smiddy

As compensation for the lack of mud, we've teamed up with the Old Smiddy on Old Castle Road. They will be offering all participants a free bottle of beer* on the night in exchange for your race number. The Old Smiddy is just a short walk (downhill!) from the finish line. The perfect spot to refresh, rehash, and review your race.

Friends of Linn Park

We're also supporting the amazing work of the Friends of Linn Park, a group of volunteers who are commited to protecting, improving and promoting the beautiful green space that is Linn Park

This volunteer group support the park in fantastic ways. Path improvements, wildlife trails, bat and butterfly encouragement just the tip of the iceberg.

They are even providing marshals on the day to support the event.
